because of my thesis report, the room for the past week has turned into my photography-studio, model-making-workshop, sketching-room, printing-and-scanning-place, supper-table, idea-factory and evil sleeping-space all in one. when i woke up this afternoon, with all the post-submission lethargy and all, my room was so littered with rubbish that i decided to access my laptop on my bed. which wasn't very good.
and i so -heart- my laptop. haha. that must sound so stupid, but when it didn't hang when i'm handling a 100-page graphics-intensive report with like seven programs running and the clock ticking away towards the deadline loudly like hell, i got so touched. ok so it did hang twice, but i think that's a good enough record. i have enough experience to know what to expect when i toggle between illustrator, photoshop, word, visio, rhino, firefox and (haha) media player.
throughout the past few days, i have exhausted all my playlists, and put on repeat like dozens of singers. and then i will last.fm, find some good undiscovered singer, and go haoting them. anw one day out of the blue i heard 志明与春矫, the one song which i have no idea what the lyrics is talking about (it's hokkien), but always get goosebumps whenever i hear it sang live. and then i got tempted to go to see 五月天, which is like super-near the next submission. but oh well, i think it will remain a fleeting thought. i have expressed disinterest to some pple already, and am too undecided to go find concert-kakis.
ok so that guitar picture, i took it last week, when i took out my guitar after sooooo long. some friend had wanted a strumming session, which i thought was quite cool, but was never materialised. i was flipping through the old scorebooks and chanced upon this score which required a Dm tuning. so i tuned. and tuned. one string sounded really wrong, and so i kept tuning. it was a simple task, and i would have done it in a jiffy four years ago. i tightened the string until i heard creaking sounds. must be the string rusty liao, i thought. and tightened somemore. i have never in my life tightened a string until it breaks. it is usually the strumming that breaks a string. but the pitch is not going any higher leh. tighten some more. oh wait, maybe when the string stops going any higher in pitch, it means it has reached it's personal max. *snap.* aiyah. too late.
