into the wild
caught a midnight oscar movie marathon thing with the childhood friend last weekend. and for the first time ever, fell asleep in the cinema. during the last show- 'the dark knight'. not that it's any bad - it's just that it was the second time i was watching it, and damn it, it was already 4am.
'the wrestler' was the first movie of the evening, and the one show which i enjoyed tremendously. it was such a painful movie to watch, both physically, and mentally. it was at first easy to decide that the wrestler wrongly chose to find value and purpose in all the wrong places.
but then again. don't we all?
i somehow got my hands on the dvd of 'in the wild'. was supposed to return it to mortal long time ago, but always had something else to do than watch it. so while i was nursing a flowing tap of a nose, i finally caught the show.
i admire the protagonist's courage and determination. admiration that stems from envy, perhaps. but my heart sank so low when he wrote his last words in his diary.
it's almost like he has done so much, and gave up so much, just for such a simple truth.
but then again. don't we all?
