heaty

the on-going AWARE saga caught my attention for several reasons. partly maybe cos of the melodramatic turn of events. partly maybe also cos how the new camp is releasing information so slowly and as a result, leaving a lot to imagination.
but most importantly i think it reflects something i find disturbing. i know a lot of pple who wholeheartedly accept their truth as the only truth. i cannot fathom the faith to do this (yet), but i can guess, somewhat understand, and embrace the pple who do.
but when someone who only sees her truth, assumes a moral highground, judges others for their views and beliefs, and then imposes her ideals onto them - this, i dunno.
and then this person makes a decision on behalf of society based on her beliefs - this, i find scary.
i dunno who decides what is right and what is wrong for a society. at some point in time, left-handedness was considered evil. maybe at some point in time, euthanasia may be ok after all. but i guess this decision should always reflect a collective sentiment, which is secular, colour-blind, and erm, asexual.
i'm delighted to be presented with different choices of cuisine. but don't expect me to like what is shoved down my throat.
i'm not making a judgement on the saga as it is, because seriously, AWARE feels rather foreign to me, still.
the whole thing just got me thinking. it spurred a lot of imagination. and quite frankly, a little bewilderment. just some personal feelings. which is what this blog is really still about.
or maybe it's just the ridiculous heat. or that little typhoon-y thing which swept across the island and woke me up the other day.
